Nāda Yoga
Everything in Life is Vibration.
Nāda Yoga (नादयोग) is an ancient Indian metaphysical system. It is based on the premise that the entire cosmos and all that exists in the cosmos, including human beings, consists of sound vibrations, called nāda.
“Nad” in Sanskrit, means Sound, and Yoga from the Sanskrit word “yuj” means to yoke or to unite. Nāda Yoga simply means using Sound Vibration as a tool to harmonize our mind, body and spirit.
Our bodies are akin to musical instruments that need regular tuning from time to time. As our environment, the nature of our work, our obligations, contribute to the level of stress we hold in our body, it is vital to have a regular cleansing and energizing practice to bring balance in our life.
Nāda Yoga, the Yoga of Sound is a meditative practice centered on utilizing the power of Sound to bring stillness in our mind, deep relaxation in the body, and revitalize our Spirit. Nāda yoga's use of sound vibrations and resonances have positive effects on the subtle body, the physical body & the mind.
In this session, you will learn how to use the Power of YOUR own voice in a Guided Nāda Yoga Meditation. The session begins with a Toning Practice merging with the vibration of Aum. Some of the benefits of toning is clearing stagnant energy within the energetic body, unblocking the flow of chi.
You will also get to listen and engage in the practice of chanting,
Chanting is a rhythmical repetition (either silently or aloud) of a song, prayer, word or sound. It is one of the most ancient spiritual practices and a part of most religions and spiritual paths.
According to the Indian yoga tradition, sound is healing and sacred. It is also believed that sound is one of the most powerful forces. Chanting during a yoga practice deepens the concentration and devotion, calms the mind and improves the awareness.
Chanting opens the heart; stills, focuses and calms the mind; and offers the benefits of a yoga class or meditation, without the struggle or the striving to concentrate. The most popular and most often chanted mantra in yoga is the supreme mantra and the primal syllable, Om (or Aum).
Chanting Sanskrit mantras is very effective for one's consciousness. It also stimulates the chakras, providing a calming, cleansing and energizing effect.
